Uub and Goten set off with Goku, Pan, and Trunks, but is it for the best?
Goku and Pan were preparing for their mission to retrieve the Black Star Dragon Balls across the galaxy. Just as they were about to depart with Trunks, Uub and Goten arrived, sensing the strange energy of the ship’s activation. Realizing what the group was about to do, Uub insisted on joining, feeling a sense of duty to help his teacher and protect the universe. Goten, reluctant to leave his easygoing life behind, was convinced to join after Pan teased him about being left out of a grand adventure.
With the crew unexpectedly expanded, their journey began. Upon arriving on Planet Imegga, they encountered Don Kee’s oppressive rule, with residents taxed to the point of poverty. Unlike in the original timeline, where Goku, Pan, and Trunks were forced to scramble for money to repair their ship, Goten used his charm to negotiate with a local mechanic, convincing him to fix their ship at a discount. Meanwhile, Uub confronted some of Don Kee’s guards, who had come to investigate the newcomers. His quick reflexes and powerful techniques quickly overpowered the guards, saving the group from a lengthy confrontation and gaining the admiration of the locals.
As they continued their journey, the group reached Planet Monmaasu, where they encountered the parasitic creature, Zoonama, who threatened the villagers with earthquakes. This time, however, instead of Trunks having to disguise himself to trick Zoonama, Uub took on the challenge. Utilizing his martial arts skills, Uub faced Zoonama in a contest of strength, distracting him long enough for Trunks and Pan to cut off his vibration-sensitive whiskers. With Uub’s help, they handled the threat more efficiently, leaving the villagers safe and grateful.
With each planet they visited, the added strength of Uub and Goten brought quicker solutions to the problems they faced. On Rudeeze, the desert planet filled with treacherous sandstorms, Goten and Trunks were able to combine their energy to create a protective shield, allowing the group to move through the sandstorms safely without relying on Pan’s small energy blasts alone. This teamwork saved them time and energy, enabling them to locate the Black Star Dragon Ball on the planet in record time.
One of their most intense encounters was on Planet Luud, where the cult of Luud sought to feed the group to the giant mechanical god. In the original timeline, the struggle against Luud’s power dragged on, nearly costing Trunks his life. However, with Uub’s ability to tap into Majin Buu’s latent energy, he managed to disrupt the Luud Machine’s energy field, weakening it considerably. With Goku’s power and Uub’s help, they were able to destroy the machine and save the cult’s captives with far less damage.
By the time they reached Planet M2, where General Rilldo and Dr. Myuu awaited, the team was more prepared than ever. Instead of being overpowered by Rilldo’s metal powers as they initially were, Goten’s quick thinking and Uub’s defensive techniques kept them on even footing, allowing Goku to focus on breaking through Rilldo’s armor. Together, they dismantled the remnants of Dr. Myuu’s forces, pushing further into the lab to uncover the chilling plans for Baby, the Tuffle parasite.
With each challenge, the team’s dynamic evolved, blending their skills and strengthening their bonds. In this altered journey, they realized that together, they could overcome even the most twisted threats lurking across the universe, giving the galaxy a new hope that this time, Earth’s strongest defenders had come prepared.
However, with events unfolding differently, Baby would never travel to Earth. Goku would never reach Super Saiyan 4 and Vegeta would never have been infiltrated by Baby. Dr. Myuu could potentially still meet Dr. Gero and Super 17 could still be created. If that did happen then it would seem that the additional support of Uub and Goten may have inadvertently put the heroes in a far more vulnerable position, as they would now collectively be weaker to face whatever threat would come next.
If Super 17 was created, Goku and the others would be heavily out matched. Without the power of Super Saiyan 4, Goku and friends would stand no chance against Super 17.
